This one kind of snuck up on me. I was scrolling through Tumblr when I saw someone reblog the following picture
I know I’m starting to show my age with the things I’m nostalgic for. Pretty soon, I’ll start telling the young’ns nowadays that I can’t make heads or tails of their movies and music because things were so much simpler in my time. 🙂 I’m actually looking forward to this. Maybe I’m on a nostalgia high. My memory’s will comfort me while my age starts turning against me.
These two fraternal twin brothers would keep me great company on Sundays. The adventures of Dag and Norby (Daggett and Norbert) was something to look forward to as my weekends were looking to come to an end. I loved Norbert’s voice, his accent and how smart he was. You can see how I was drawn to intelligent men from early on 😉 Wait, he’s not a man, he’s a beav– but y’all get the point! I was drawn to an intelligent mind. yea, that’s better. Dag was received as too jumpy and anxious and troublesome to me but this was the intention of his creators so I don’t feel bad about my bias. One thing I wasn’t all the way here for with Norb was his constant hugging. Whadup widdat, dude? Say it with me- personal space.
I loved the use of other woodland creatures and plants in ways that made them have human- like traits while staying true to their actual characteristics and habits based on nature. The balance was very good with this show, I think, but my memory may just be conveniently processing only good moments from watching this series.
If you have no clue about the Angry Beavers or you just want a small (or even large) dose for old times’ sake, you can search the “angry beavers” tag on Tumblr. Or you can catch some episodes on YouTube (don’t worry, I plan to so you’re in good company). Be careful though- Tumblr and YouTube are black holes of the internet.
