In the past week, I have had three experiences where I assumed I wouldn’t be granted an opportunity because of either someone saying that someone in my position would most likely not get it or because I talked myself out of something assuming people would not be understanding of my situation as it would require them to be flexible with a deadline. For one situation I am all but sure things would have worked out differently and for the other, I would have liked to find out for sure even if it did not work out. After all, the most they could say in those situations is no and I would be in the same position as I am now only I would have some comfort in being able to say I tried.
I say all of this to say that it is better to have tried and failed and receive surety rather than not try and wonder what if. Others in my position were told they would most likely not get the opportunity as well but they still tried and it worked out for a few. Now I wonder if I could have been one of them and it sucks.
They say at the end of your life, you regret the things you didn’t do more than the things you did. I’ll get over these situations but I may come upon others that are much harder to come to terms with. I therefore have decided to change my attitude. I will no longer take no for an answer before I even ask and I will be sure to ask and try for every opportunity that I desire.
Have you ever had this feeling of regret where you just KNEW things would be different if you had just tried but this knowledge came a bit too late? If so, how did you deal with it? Let me know in the comments.
until my next post…!
My girl Pink was feeling aquatic with her latest video. She had two guest stars- Nate Ruess (front man of fun.) and her fine as wine husband and babydaddy, Carey Hart. The video is a bit dark which I think is because of the message of the tune- we used to be so in love n now things have fallen off (at least in the eyes of the woman because the man thinks all is well and the woman is over-thinking things- ain’t that always the case though? Haha) but it’s quite sexy. The scenes of Pink and Carey made it clear that baby Willow was no mistake. I think Pink has never looked sexier or more feminine and I LOVE it. I am obsessed with this song and the video is icing on the cake for me. It’s a perfect “let’s give this another try” tune. I have many favourite lines but “We’re not broken, just bent, we can learn to love again” sums this song up perfectly. I want to go out and get a water bed and learn how to swim (don’t judge me) after watching this. Check it out below and let me know what you think. Did I interpret the song and video correctly? Should Pink and Carey make Willow: the sequel? Talk to me! Until next post!
Riri premiered her video(s) for her single Stay. I viewed the uncut as well as the official version. The official video (as well as the uncut version) is apparently to be simplistic and to display a stripped down (literally) and vulnerable side of the Bajan sensation. She spends the entire video naked in a bathtub. Get your acting on, gworl with that one tear drop and hardly any actual mouthing of the words. There’s no way anyone could not STAY after such a convincing plea. Oh, and Mikky, the writer n featured artist of the song, makes an appearance in the video as well and I must say, he’s not looking too shabby. He could have taken a bath too, if you catch my drift. View the video below and let me know what you think!
